DARNELL SULLIVAN

FOUNDER AMERITUS

On June 8th, 2016 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the Male Cosmetologist Association was formed. Darnell began by creating the MCA Facebook Group Page and immediately began inviting as many male stylists to join that he could. And after these members started doing the same, the group grew to over 300 members very quickly.

He then handpicked a few members he noticed to be really active within the group, and invited them to become initial board members.

The First Official Board Meeting was then held in Charlotte, NC in October 2016. The Board Members discussed plans for expansion and the future of the group. In February 2017, they hosted the first Male Cosmetologist Association's Meet and Greet in Atlanta. It was a great success filled with good food, networking, discussions, and bonding.

On December 23, 2017 Darnell decided to retire from the Hair Industry after 23 years of service. In 2018, to focus on his new career in Life Insurance sales, he passed the torch of Leadership on and designated Mr Howard S. Baker Jr. as the new President of the Association. Darnell is proud and tearfully happy with the many friendships and bonds of Brotherhood that have developed for so many members within the Association. He is still a faithful member and supporter of MCA. And very excited for what the future holds for our Association and it's Members.
